Module 05

What Is the Interface Actually Made Of?

When two interfaces look the same, what makes them different to the browser and assistive technology?

This module begins with a foundational question: a page can look polished but still communicate very different things to the browser, the accessibility tree, and the user. Students compare visual presentation, semantic structure, native controls, and browser accessibility information before they test with a screen reader in the next session.
